Company
Our History
ACC Water Solutions is the sister company to Smoky Trout Farm, a large commercial recirculatory aquaculture facility in Red Deer County, Alberta. In the 26 year history of the two businesses we’ve designed hundreds of small scale agricultural aeration systems in “dugout” reservoirs in Western Canada to support agricultural operations and stocking the fish ponds of farmers and ranchers. When ACC Water Solutions formally launched in 2016, we grew our expertise and capacity to industrial, municipal and conservation applications.
Our approach has been grounded in using the best available research in oxygenation, aeration and mixing to measure and deliver reliable results. From that experience we’ve grown to design and deliver numerous larger scale solutions for water management stakeholders experiencing significant challenges such as manganese management, storm water, and residential lake water management. We’re able to deliver on our commitment to provide cost-effective solutions to water stakeholders in Canada and around the world.
Our Approach
The goals of every water quality project we take on are:
Measurable improvements and water quality outcomes with reduced risk.
In 2015, the Water Research Foundation funded extensive best practice research on reservoir management with oxygenation and mixing. Lead researcher, Ken Wagner, demonstrated that up to 50 percent of all aeration systems fail to achieve their stated water quality goals.
After hundreds of successful installs of aeration systems in the Canadian Prairies we believe the lowest risk, best outcome for water quality improvement science-led oxygenation strategies that are pragmatic and grounded in data.
Our approach is pragmatic, detailed and collaborative. There is a strong focus on early consultation, data collection and discussion prior to design work being undertaken.
