Town of Cochrane

Waterbody Type: Stormwater

Water Quality Problem: Algae and odours in a residential area. The problem was persistent and drawing negative attention to the stormwater pond from residents.

Aeration Solution: A bottom diffused aeration system designed to fully mix the water column and deliver oxygen to the sediments. The design was robust to also prevent H2S formation, which usually causes the odors via anoxic decomposition processes. Due to the residential location, QuietAir cabinets were installed to manage noise from 2 ¾  horsepower compressors.
